R.I.P. Honus Wagner Sporting Goods

Yup, the store opened by Honus Wagner himself is set to close. End of an era.

Joey Porter's Pit Bulls bought many a pair of cleats, shoes, jerseys, shirts, jackets, hoodies, and our all-time favorite baseball glove there.

Here's the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article chronicling the store's history. Good article, well worth a read.

Wow! Just when the second season is set to begin, we get a major late Christmas gift with the first entry of JPPB in 2011. So good to see you back! I don't think I could get this much key information, stated so eloquently, if I would take the entire week combing through the internet. Thank you for your timely and much anticipated return!!

Thanks, Anonymous! You're way too kind.

At least our year started better than Michael Haywood's (who was in JAIL).

No., indeed, we spent New Year's Eve comfortably at home, flipping between the Twilight Zone Marathon on the SciFi Channel and the Marx Brothers Marathon on TCM. Fortunately, the Twilight Zone Marathon continued all the way through New Year's Day, offset with continuing levity from the Three Stooges Marathon on AMC. Yes, it was a productive weekend.

Well, at least we found time on New Year's Day to start posting again with a hearty hello from our friend Maddie
(http://joeyporterspitbulls.blogspot.com/2011/01/happy-new-year-from-maddie-and-joey.html), followed by several football-related posts. We'll try to keep 'em going. Thanks again!
